أَنا أَبو ثَورٍ وَسيفي ذو النُّون

أَنا أَبو ثَورٍ وَسيفي ذو النُّون

أَضرِبُهم ضَربَ غُلامٍ مجنون

أَضرِبُهم ضَربَ غُلامٍ مجنون

I am Abu Thawr, and my sword is Dhu al-Nun.

I am Abuthawr whose sword is sharp,

I strike them with the blows of a mad youth.

I strike them with the blows of a crazed boy,

يالَ زُبَيد إِنهم يَموتون

يالَ زُبَيد إِنهم يَموتون

O Zubayd! Indeed, they are dying.

Oh Zubayd, they will surely die.
