فَلوso if أَنَّthat قوميmy people أَطاعواhad obeyed الرَّشاright guidance (الرشاد, continued)
فَلو أَنَّ قومي أَطاعوا الرَّشا
دَcompletion of الرشاد: right guidance لمdid not يُبعدونيthey drove me away ولمand did not أَظلمِI do wrong
دَ لم يُبعدوني ولم أَظلمِ
Had my people followed right guidance,
they would not have driven me away, nor would I have done wrong.
ولكنَّbut قوميmy people أَطاعواobeyed الغُواthe misguided (الغواة, continued)
ولكنَّ قومي أَطاعوا الغُوا
ةَcompletion of الغواة: the misguided حتىuntil تَعَكَّظَgathered أَهلُthe people of الدمِblood
ةَ حتى تَعَكَّظَ أَهلُ الدمِ
But my people obeyed the misguided,
until the avengers of blood gathered.
