Our disobedience to God kept betraying us,
Our disobedience to God still enslaves us
Until it delivered us to Yahya and Dinar—
Until we pay Yahya and Dinar
إلىto عليجينtwo petty barbarians لمnot تقطعbe cut ثمارهماtheir fruits (foreskins)
إلى عليجين لم تقطع ثمارهما
قدindeed طالlasted long ماthat (introducing the action) سجدhe prostrated himself للشمسto the sun والنارand the fire
قد طال ما سجد للشمس والنار
To two petty barbarians whose fruits had not been cut,
To Alujin whose fruits we have not reaped
Each had long prostrated himself to the sun and fire.
Long has he bowed to the sun and fire
