حب تساقاه مُشاشُ أعظمي
My love for you, O lady with the little snub nose,
I love you, O nobly featured one,
Is a love the soft ends of my bones have drunk in together,
A love carried by my innermost being.

وساطه الله بلحمي ودمي
And it crept between my liver and my waist,
It crept between my liver and waist,
And God mingled it with my flesh and blood.
God intermingled it with my flesh and blood.

ولا الذي إن يتقادم يسأم
So it is neither watered-down nor concealed,
It is not to be tasted or hidden away,
Nor the kind one tires of if it grows old.
Nor is it that which, if forgotten, becomes tedious.

You have indeed settled in a heart—know this—
Indeed it descended from an ardent heart—know this—
In the place of something loved and honored.
To the station of the beloved and honored thing.
