May God grant a good reward—and recompense is in His hand—

to the sons of Darim, on behalf of every offender and debtor.

They carried my baggage and returned my entrusted property

to me, and restored my primary flight feathers.

And they have no fault, except that their hands

are to their wealth like devastating years of famine.

And they do not bequeath to their sons—

though they bequeath goodness—hoards of dirhams.

Nor does it harm a man whose father and mother trace their lineage

to Darim that he does not belong to Hashim.
