ياO أيهاyou (vocative) السائليone who asks me عمداًdeliberately لأخبرهso that I may tell him
بذاتof the essence of نفسيmy soul وأيديand the hands of اللهGod فوقabove يديmy hand
O one who deliberately asks me so that I may tell him
O you who intentionally asked to be told
of my innermost self, while God's hands are above my hand:
About my inner self, God's hands are over mine
إنif تستقمis upright أسدAsad ترشدit finds guidance وإنand if شغبتit stirs up trouble
فلاthen let not يلمblame لائمa blamer إلاexcept بنيthe sons of أسدAsad
If Asad keeps upright, it will find guidance; but if it stirs up trouble,
If I walk straight, I guide like a lion, and if I rebel
let no one blame any but the sons of Asad.
No blamer blames except the lion cubs

وتكنعونand you bow submissively الىto ذيone possessed of الفجرةwickedness النكدill-natured
Indeed, I have seen your elder disobeyed among you,
I saw you disobey your elders
while you bow submissively to the ill-natured evildoer.
And scorn the frowned-face one
فباعدso may He separate اللهGod كلthe full extent of البعدdistance بينكمbetween you
ولاand not شفاكمmay He heal you منof الأضغانgrudges والحسدand envy
So may God put the utmost distance between you,
So may God distance you far apart
and may He not heal you of grudges and envy.
And may He not cure you of grudges and envy
