بَعَثَ الرَسولُ بِما تَرى فَكَأَنَّما

بَعَثَ الرَسولُ بِما تَرى فَكَأَنَّما

عَمداً نَشُدُّ عَلى المَقانِبِ غارا

عَمداً نَشُدُّ عَلى المَقانِبِ غارا

The messenger sent what you see, so it is as though

The Messenger was sent with what you see, as though

We deliberately charge upon the cavalry squadrons in a raid.

We deliberately erected tents upon the mountain peaks.

وَلَقَد وَرَدنَ بِنا المَدينَةَ شُزَّباً

وَلَقَد وَرَدنَ بِنا المَدينَةَ شُزَّباً

وَلَقَد قَتَلنا بِجَوِّها الأَنصارا

وَلَقَد قَتَلنا بِجَوِّها الأَنصارا

And indeed they bore us to Medina, gaunt,

And we came to Medina in patches,

And indeed we killed the Ansar in its open plain.

And by its climate we killed the Helpers.
