عَلَيهِم كُلَّما أَمسَوا دُوارُ
Ah, would that my maternal uncles, Ghani,
Oh, if only my uncles were wealthy,
Had Duwar over them whenever evening fell,
Upon them every evening liters of wine,
بِبِرِّthrough the beneficence of إِلَهِهِمtheir god وَيَكونُand may there be فيهِمamong them
بِبِرِّ إِلَهِهِم وَيَكونُ فيهِم
عَلىfor العافينَthose seeking bounty أَيّامٌdays قِصارُshort
عَلى العافينَ أَيّامٌ قِصارُ
Through their god's beneficence, and that among them
With the righteousness of their God, and among them
The days were short for those seeking bounty.
Upon the healthy, days would be short.
