Stop, you two, on the harbor's shore, so we may water it
Stand on the banks of the harbor and let's drink
With tears whose torrent overflowed like the sea.
Tears overflowing like the running sea

There Siham sails; fate
Arrows of fate fly there
Shoots her toward glory—O God, what an archer!
Shot by Glory, oh God who shoots them

She sailed at noon on Saturday, cleaving the water,
The afternoon of Saturday crept slowly
Racing the wind as she sped toward her destinations.
Racing the wind, running in its paths

Her steam, like a column, stood upright,
Its steam like a pillar standing erect
Striking the bright stars in the blue sky's heart.
Piercing the blue dome with its stabs

And I do not exaggerate, for the flags bear me witness
And I do not exaggerate, the banners witness
That the crescent abides above her mast.
That the crescent stays atop its pole

And not a moment passed before I saw there
In but a moment I saw in it
Siham in the deep, having already cast her anchors.
Arrows thrown in the sea's swell

O palm tree from the hills of bounty, struck down,
Oh palm tree raised on the soil of nobility shredded
With the harvests of her fruit still drawing near.
Its fruit still comes free

We weep for you always, O Antoun; still
We always cry for you oh Anton you never left
Your memory's fragrance wafts across the horizons.
The memory of you still scents the horizons

Indeed we, though far away, as long as a ring-necked dove laments,
From afar those bent with grief sob
Mourn Siham and weep for those who perished aboard her.
Crying for the arrows, weeping for those who passed in them
