إلى هنا تنْتهي الدُّنيا بصاحِبِها

إلى هنا تنْتهي الدُّنيا بصاحِبِها

فلا خُلودَ له إِلاّ بِذِكراهُ

فلا خُلودَ له إِلاّ بِذِكراهُ

Here the world comes to an end for its inhabitant.

To here the world ends with its companion

So he has no immortality except through remembrance of him.

So he has no eternity but with his memories

فارقتُ دُنْيَايَ لم أَجْزَعْ لآخرتي

فارقتُ دُنْيَايَ لم أَجْزَعْ لآخرتي

فالمرء دُنْيَاهُ مرآةٌ لأُخراهُ

فالمرء دُنْيَاهُ مرآةٌ لأُخراهُ

I left my worldly life; I did not fear for my afterlife.

I left my world and did not despair for my end

For a person's worldly life is a mirror of his afterlife.

For one's world is a mirror of his end
