الحسنُbeauty كلُّall الحسنِbeauty ماwhat صوَّرَهْhe portrayed it
الحسنُ كلُّ الحسنِ ما صوَّرَهْ
A bride of poetry for a young poet.
A poet's verse bride for a poet lad
Beauty—all beauty—is what he portrayed.
Beauty itself however he pictured her
كانتshe was خَيَالاًa vision ثمthen حَقَّقْتَهُyou made it real
كانت خَيَالاً ثم حَقَّقْتَهُ
للهِto God (in admiration) شيطانُكَyour demon ماhow أشعَرَهْpoetically gifted he is
للهِ شيطانُكَ ما أشعَرَهْ
She was a vision; then you made it real.
At first but fancy then made real by you
God bless your demon—how gifted a poet he is!
