إذاwhenever نزلتalight أبناءthe sons of رزيكRuzzik منزلاًa dwelling
إذا نزلت أبناء رزيك منزلاً
تبسمsmiles عنrevealing ثغرteeth النباهةrenown خاملهits obscure one
تبسم عن ثغر النباهة خامله
Whenever the sons of Ruzzik alight in a dwelling,
When your worthy sons alight at an abode,
What was obscure there smiles, baring the teeth of renown;
A smile of sagacity beams from its threshold.
وخيمand encamps فيin أرجائهits precincts المجدglory والعلىand eminence
وخيم في أرجائه المجد والعلى
وجادand rains abundantly بهupon it طلlight rain السماحgenerosity وهاطلهand its downpour
وجاد به طل السماح وهاطله
And glory and eminence encamp in its precincts,
Glory and loftiness pervade its quarters,
And generosity's light rain and downpour shower upon it.
Generosity and nobility rain upon it.
ملوكkings لهمthey have فضلdistinction بأبلجthrough a radiant one منهمfrom among them
ملوك لهم فضل بأبلج منهم
محافلهhis assemblies تزهىtake pride بهin him وجحافلهand his armies
محافله تزهى به وجحافله
Kings whose distinction comes through a radiant one among them;
Kings who excel through their pure lineage,
His assemblies and his armies glory in him.
Their gatherings adorn it and their troops frequent it.
تزرis fastened علىupon الليثthe lion الغضنفرthe mighty lion درعهhis armor
تزر على الليث الغضنفر درعه
وتلوىand are wound علىaround الطودthe mountain المنيفthe lofty حمائلهhis sword-belts
وتلوى على الطود المنيف حمائله
His armor is fastened upon the mighty lion,
The lion wraps his flowing mane around it,
And his sword-belts are wound around the lofty mountain.
The tall mountain wraps its twisting slopes around it.
يفيضhe pours forth عليناupon us كلevery يومday وليلةand night
يفيض علينا كل يوم وليلة
بلاwithout سببcause أفضالهhis favors وفضائلهand his virtues
بلا سبب أفضاله وفضائله
He pours upon us, every day and night,
Every day and night he grants us favors
Without cause, his favors and his virtues.
Without cause, his virtues and merits overflowing,
يثيبhe rewards علىfor أقوالناour words متبرعاًgiving freely
يثيب على أقوالنا متبرعاً
علىdespite أنهاthat they are منof بعضsome ماwhat هوhe قائلهsaying it
على أنها من بعض ما هو قائله
He rewards our words, giving freely,
Rewarding our words though they barely express
Though they are but part of what he himself says.
Some of the praises that he deserves.
بكمthrough you شرفgained honor الإسلامIslam وانتصرand triumphed الهدىguidance
بكم شرف الإسلام وانتصر الهدى
وقامتand stood upright قناةspear-shaft الدينreligion واشتدand grew strong كاهلهits shoulder
وقامت قناة الدين واشتد كاهله
Through you, Islam has gained honor and guidance has triumphed;
How much has Islam gained honor and guidance prevailed,
And religion's spear-shaft has risen upright, and its shoulder has grown strong.
The pillar of religion strengthened and its burden borne!
وأصبحand has become منكمfrom among you مجدهits glory وجلالهand its majesty
وأصبح منكم مجده وجلاله
وفارسهand its knight يومon the day of الهياجbattle وكاهلهand its supporting shoulder
وفارسه يوم الهياج وكاهله
And from among you now come its glory and its majesty,
His glory and majesty have come from you
And its knight on the day of battle, and its supporting shoulder.
As have his horseman on days of calamity and burden.
