The hearts have yearned for your appearance
إنif كنتyou were أصبحتyou became البعيbeginning of 'the distant one'
إن كنت أصبحت البعي
دcompletion of 'the distant one' فأنتthen you فيin قلبيmy heart قريبnear
د فأنت في قلبي قريب
If you have become far—
If you have become distant
away, you are near in my heart.
You are still close in my heart
البدرthe full moon فيin نصفthe middle الشهوbeginning of 'the months'
البدر في نصف الشهو
رcompletion of 'the months' وقدand already تكاملhas reached fullness لاnot يغيبdisappears
ر وقد تكامل لا يغيب
The full moon in the middle of each month,
The full moon in mid month
having reached its fullness, does not disappear.
Has fully appeared, it does not disappear
ومغيبand the absence شخصكyour person عنfrom زياbeginning of 'visiting'
ومغيب شخصك عن زيا
رةcompletion of 'visiting' منthe one whom تحبyou love هوit is العجيبthe strange thing
رة من تحب هو العجيب
And your absence from visiting
Yet your absence from visiting
the one you love is what is strange.
