He is a handsome camel whose days
with generosity, majesty, and unassailable strength.
were spent in generosity, awe and honor.
ضاءتshone كفاةable stewards الملكthe realm فيat جنبهhis side
ضاءت كفاة الملك في جنبه
كالصبحlike dawn يغنيكspares you the need عنfor الشمعةthe candle
كالصبح يغنيك عن الشمعة
The realm's able stewards shone beside him,
The brightness of the king's palms beside him
like dawn that leaves you no need of a candle.
is like the morning sun making candles useless.
كمhow many منةa favor أردفهاhe followed it with منةa favor
كم منة أردفها منة
ووقعةand a battle أتبعهاhe followed it with وقعةa battle
ووقعة أتبعها وقعة
Many a favor he followed with another,
How much kindness he added to kindness,
and many a battle he followed with another.
and many great deeds followed by more.

يدنوhe draws near إليناto us والسهاand Suha (the star) دونهbelow him
يدنو إلينا والسها دونه
فيin شرفthe nobility of الرتبةrank والرفعةand lofty station
في شرف الرتبة والرفعة
He draws near to us, though Suha lies below him
He approaches us while those of high rank and status
in nobility of rank and lofty station.

خاطبa suitor for إحسانكyour kindness مسترسلاًtrusting without reserve
خاطب إحسانك مسترسلاً
وأنتand you أولىmost suited الناسof all people بالشفقةto showing compassion
وأنت أولى الناس بالشفقة
I court your kindness, trusting without reserve,
Continue speaking to him with kindness,
and you, of all people, are most fit to show compassion.
