بما جرى وهو أحكم
God is Most High and knows best
God is most High and All-Knowing
what has happened, and He is wisest.
Of what has come to pass, and He is the Wisest
لقدindeed طرتarose ليfor me أمورmatters
لقد طرت لي أمور
منfrom مثلهاtheir like يتوجمone grows dismayed
من مثلها يتوجم
Things have indeed befallen me,
Many things have happened to me
the like of which leaves one dismayed.
That would make anyone frown
بليتI was afflicted منby كلevery نذلvile man
بليت من كل نذل
بذمناby disparaging us متهجمbrazenly assailing
بذمنا متهجم
I have been afflicted by every vile man,
I have suffered from every vulgar person
who brazenly attacks us with disparagement,
Who attacked us aggressively
علىupon القبيحwhat is vile بلفظwith speech
على القبيح بلفظ
منof المحالfalsehood يترجمgives voice to
من المحال يترجم
bent on foulness, with words
With ugly words that cannot
that give voice to falsehood.
Be translated or interpreted
يغتابنيbackbites me ثمthen يبدوappears
يغتابني ثم يبدو
بوجههwith his face يتبسمsmiles
بوجهه يتبسم
He backbites me, then appears
They backbite me then appear
with a smile upon his face.
Before me with a smile
ويستبيحand permits violation لعرضيwith regard to my honor
ويستبيح لعرضي
ليزدريهto scorn it ويثلمand tarnishes
ليزدريه ويثلم
And he treats my honor as fair game,
And see it fit to violate my honor
to scorn it and tarnish it.
To belittle and wound it
ياO ربLord أنتYou بصيرall-seeing
يا رب أنت بصير
وأنتand You بالغيبof the unseen أعلمknow best
وأنت بالغيب أعلم
O Lord, You are all-seeing,
Oh Lord, You are All-Seeing
and You know the unseen best.
And You know the unseen best
إنيindeed I علىabove الفحشobscenity ناءfar removed
إني على الفحش ناء
متقشفaustere متبرمvexed
متقشف متبرم
Indeed, I am far above obscenity,
I strongly dislike obscenity
austere and vexed.
And live modestly with self-restraint
وإنand indeed منwhoever رامsought صنعdoing الthe
وإن من رام صنع ال
جميلkindness معwith غيرnon- مسلمMuslim
جميل مع غير مسلم
And indeed, whoever seeks to do
And if one who intends to do good
a kindness to a non-Muslim
To those unlike his own faith
يكونwill be هذاthis جزاهhis recompense
يكون هذا جزاه
منfrom كلevery نغلbastard ومجرمand criminal
من كل نغل ومجرم
will have this as his recompense
May this be the recompense
from every bastard and criminal.
