سَبَقَ الدَهرُ جَدُّكُم في الرِهانِ

سَبَقَ الدَهرُ جَدُّكُم في الرِهانِ

وَعَلَت نارُكُم عَلى النيرانِ

وَعَلَت نارُكُم عَلى النيرانِ

Your fortune outstripped time in the race,

Your ancestors excelled in valor

And your fire rose above all fires.

And your fire towers over fires

وَجَرى في عِنانِكُم جامِحُ الجَد

وَجَرى في عِنانِكُم جامِحُ الجَد

دِ مُطولاً يُلوي بِكُلِّ عِنانِ

دِ مُطولاً يُلوي بِكُلِّ عِنانِ

And fortune’s unruly steed galloped under your rein,

And the impetuous ancestor held the reins

With rein let out, wrenching every rein.

Long winding them around every rein
