هَذاthis أَميرُCommander المُؤمِنينَof the Faithful مُحَمَّدٌMuhammad
هَذا أَميرُ المُؤمِنينَ مُحَمَّدٌ
كَرُمَتwere noble مَغارِسُهُhis roots وَطابَand was pure المَولِدُthe birth
كَرُمَت مَغارِسُهُ وَطابَ المَولِدُ
This is Muhammad, Commander of the Faithful.
This is the Commander of the Faithful, Muhammad,
Noble are his roots, and pure is his birth.
His roots were honored and his birth was auspicious,
أَوماand has it not كَفاكَsufficed you بِأَنَّthat أُمَّكَyour mother فاطِمٌFatim
أَوما كَفاكَ بِأَنَّ أُمَّكَ فاطِمٌ
وَأَبوكَand your father حَيدَرَةٌHaydara وَجَدُّكَand your grandfather أَحمَدُAhmad
وَأَبوكَ حَيدَرَةٌ وَجَدُّكَ أَحمَدُ
And is it not enough for you that your mother is Fatim,
Is it not enough for you that your mother is Fatimah,
And your father Haydara, and your grandfather Ahmad?
And your father is Haydarah, and your grandfather Ahmad?
يُمسيhe enters the evening وَمَنزِلُand the lodging ضَيفِهِof his guest لاnot يُحتَوىbe encompassed
يُمسي وَمَنزِلُ ضَيفِهِ لا يُحتَوى
كَرَماًin generosity وَبَيتُand the treasury نُضارِهِof his gold لاnot يُقلَدُbe locked
كَرَماً وَبَيتُ نُضارِهِ لا يُقلَدُ
He enters the evening, his guest's lodging boundless
He spends the night while his guest house cannot contain,
In generosity, and his treasury of gold never locked.
His generosity, and his fragrant abode cannot be matched.
