Sulayman, your two hands guided me to wealth,

And you set resolve galloping for me, white-blazed and white-socked.

You lifted me by my arm, striving hard, and secured for me

A summit in the reaches of heaven, and a stronghold.

And you raised me so high that I thought I

Would cross a brook in the Milky Way's expanse.

How, then, can I depart from you without provisions?

And oh, many a provision fails to carry one to a resting place.

And I cannot travel unless I strap on a saddlebag

In which I see lean provisions grown plump.

Otherwise, provision me with your affection, for I

Draw from you a blade against hunger's army.

For I did not become Time's enemy until I saw it

Waging war on whoever reaches dusk and dawn destitute.

And whenever a town turned hostile to me, I would

Seek refuge in sleek, noble steeds and the open plains.

And whoever is forsaken, as I am among you,

Feels no shame in asking the days to change.
