غَداwent forth in the morning فيamong الجيرَةِthe neighbors الغادينَdeparting in the morning لُبّيmy mind
غَدا في الجيرَةِ الغادينَ لُبّي
جَميعاًentirely ثُمَّthen راجَعَنيreturned to me وَثاباin leaps
جَميعاً ثُمَّ راجَعَني وَثابا
My mind went with the neighbors departing in the morning,
Tomorrow among the bygone youth in the village
All of it—then came bounding back to me.
They all returned to me and settled down
لَئِنif indeed فارَقتُهُمI parted from them وَبَقيتُand I remained حَيّاًalive
لَئِن فارَقتُهُم وَبَقيتُ حَيّاً
لَقَدindeed فارَقتُI parted from بَعدَهُمُafter them الشَباباyouth
لَقَد فارَقتُ بَعدَهُمُ الشَبابا
If indeed I parted from them and remained alive,
If I were to leave them and live on
I have surely parted from youth after them.
I would have left behind me my youth after them
