I say to her, where the sand dune's slope ended:

You have slipped free, by God, of Murbikh's sands.

You have escaped despite your weariness from night travel

And traversing the deserts, vast waste after vast waste,

Where no young man has yet answered another's call,

And no noble brother shows compassion for his brother.

And only an intervening stretch remains—so cast it

Behind you: indeed, the dwelling lies beyond that stretch.
