شَرِسٌ تَيَقُّظُهُ تَيَقُّظُ خائِفٍ

شَرِسٌ تَيَقُّظُهُ تَيَقُّظُ خائِفٍ

وَفِعالُ نَجدَتِهِ فِعالُ شُجاعِ

وَفِعالُ نَجدَتِهِ فِعالُ شُجاعِ

Fierce, his watchfulness is that of one who fears;

Ferocious in their awakening, awakening of one who is afraid,

And his deeds of valor are those of a brave man.

And their deeds of bravery are deeds of courage,

وَمُدَرَّبينَ عَلى اللِقاءِ كَأَنَّهُم

وَمُدَرَّبينَ عَلى اللِقاءِ كَأَنَّهُم

لَم يُخلَقوا إِلا لِيَومِ قِراعِ

لَم يُخلَقوا إِلا لِيَومِ قِراعِ

And men trained for combat, as though they

Trained for battle as if they were created for nothing but the day of clashing.

were created only for a day of battle.
