أَحِنُّI yearn إِلىfor لِقائِكَmeeting you كُلَّevery يَومٍday
وَأَسأَلُand I ask عَنabout إِيابِكَyour return كُلَّevery وَقتِmoment
I long to meet you every day,
I long to meet you every day.
and ask about your return at every moment.
And I ask about your return at every moment.
وَأَذكُرُand I recall ماwhat مَضىhas passed فَيَغيضُso ebbs صَبريmy patience
وَتَنفُرُand bursts forth عَبرَتيmy tear وَيَبوحُand speaks openly صَمتيmy silence
I remember what has passed, and my patience gives way;
And I recall what has passed, so my patience ebbs.
my tears burst forth, and my silence speaks.
And my tears burst forth, and my silence speaks.
وَليand I have قَلبٌa heart إِذاwhen ذَكَرَit recalls التَلاقيreunion

Mine is a heart that, whenever it recalls reunion,
And I have a heart that, when it recalls reunion,
has learned its lesson at the hand of parting—the disperser.
Complains of the hand of sundering separation.
