أَتُرىdo you think نُراحُwe shall be relieved مِنَfrom الفِراقِseparation
يَوماًone day وَنَأخُذُand we begin فيin التَلاقيmeeting again
Do you think we shall find relief from separation
Do you think we will ever be at rest from parting,
One day, and begin to meet again?
And one day take to union and meeting again,
فَأَغُضُّthen I lessen مِنof جَزَعيmy anguish وَأَمand I wipe (word begins)
حوcompletion of 'wipe' الدَمعَthe tears مِنfrom بَينِbetween المَآقيthe corners of the eyes
Then I may lessen my anguish and wipe
So I restrain my anguish and check my tears,
Away the tears from the corners of my eyes,
Holding back the drops from between the lids,
وَأَروحُand I go forth فيin ظَفَرِtriumph القَوِيَّthe strong one
وَقَدِand already اِنتَصَفتُI have won redress مِنَfrom الفِراقِseparation
And go forth with the triumph of the strong,
And go exulting in the power of the Strong,
Having won redress from separation.
Now that I have avenged myself upon separation?
