غَداًtomorrow يَهدِمُwill demolish المَجدُglory المُؤَثَّلُdeep-rooted ماwhat بَنىit built
غَداً يَهدِمُ المَجدُ المُؤَثَّلُ ما بَنى
وَتَكسِدُand will languish أَسواقُmarkets الصَوارِمِsharp swords وَالقَناand spears
وَتَكسِدُ أَسواقُ الصَوارِمِ وَالقَنا
Tomorrow, deep-rooted glory will demolish what they built,
Tomorrow, deep-rooted glory will demolish what it built.
and the markets for keen swords and lances will fall idle.
And the markets of sharp swords and spears will languish.
مَضىhas passed away المُصدِرُsender forth of الآراءِcounsels وَالمورِدُand leader to water of النُهىminds
مَضى المُصدِرُ الآراءِ وَالمورِدُ النُهى
فَمَنso who يَعدِلُwill straighten الميلاءَwhat is crooked أَوor يَرأَبُwill mend الثِناthe fractures
فَمَن يَعدِلُ الميلاءَ أَو يَرأَبُ الثِنا
Gone is he who sent opinions forth and brought discerning minds to water;
Gone is he who sent forth counsel and led minds to water.
who, then, will straighten what is crooked, or mend the breach?
So who will straighten what is crooked, or mend the fractures?
