And one with a quivering tip and shimmering radiance,

matching the course of gleaming lightning.

The smith poured a robe over her flanks,

spread wide in the likeness of rising stars.

So she came forth with a body that fills the eye with delight,

when an unarmored man beholds her, no less than one clad in mail.

With her is saluted one whose right hand has never been saluted

with anything but lofty spears and cleaving swords.

Sharper than reproach that looms over love,

and keener than parting’s edge at the points of severance.
