أَيُّها الرائِحُ المُغِذُّ تَحَمَّل

أَيُّها الرائِحُ المُغِذُّ تَحَمَّل

حاجَةً لِلمُعَذَّبِ المُشتاقِ

حاجَةً لِلمُعَذَّبِ المُشتاقِ

O traveler hastening on, undertake

O breeze that nourishes, bear

An errand for the tormented, yearning one.

A longing for the tormented lover

أَقرِ عَنّي السَلامَ أَهلَ المُصَلّى

أَقرِ عَنّي السَلامَ أَهلَ المُصَلّى

وَبَلاغُ السَلامِ بَعدَ التَلاقي

وَبَلاغُ السَلامِ بَعدَ التَلاقي

Convey my greetings to the people of al-Musalla;

Greet the people of the mosque from me

And greetings are conveyed after meeting.

When greetings are exchanged after meeting

وَإِذا ما مَرَرتَ بِالخَيفِ فَاِشهَد

وَإِذا ما مَرَرتَ بِالخَيفِ فَاِشهَد

أَنَّ قَلبي إِلَيهِ بِالأَشواقِ

أَنَّ قَلبي إِلَيهِ بِالأَشواقِ

And when you pass by al-Khayf, bear witness

And if you pass by the walls, witness

That my heart turns toward it with longing.

That my heart longs for it

وَإِذا ما سُئِلتَ عَنّي فَقُل نِض

وَإِذا ما سُئِلتَ عَنّي فَقُل نِض

وُ هَوىً ما أَظُنُّهُ اليَومَ باقِ

وُ هَوىً ما أَظُنُّهُ اليَومَ باقِ

And when you are asked about me, say: "One wasted

And if you are asked about me, say I pine

By love—I do not think he survives today."

With love that I think will remain forever

ضاعَ قَلبي فَاِنشُدهُ لي بَينَ جَمعٍ

ضاعَ قَلبي فَاِنشُدهُ لي بَينَ جَمعٍ

وَمِنىً عِندَ بَعضِ تِلكَ الحِداقِ

وَمِنىً عِندَ بَعضِ تِلكَ الحِداقِ

My heart is lost; seek it for me between Jamʿ

My heart is lost, so search for it among a gathering

And Mina, with some of those eyes.

And pilgrimage, near one of those enclosures

وَاِبكِ عَنّي فَطالَما كُنتُ مِن قَب

وَاِبكِ عَنّي فَطالَما كُنتُ مِن قَب

لٍ أُعيرُ الدُموعَ لِلعُشّاقِ

لٍ أُعيرُ الدُموعَ لِلعُشّاقِ

And weep on my behalf, for so often in the past I would

And cry for me, for long before
