Do you prefer strolling in gardens
That surpass the gardens of Eden in beauty?
That surpass in beauty the gardens of Eden

وَأَرجوand I hope أَنthat تَرِقَّyou will be tender لِعاشِقَيهِtoward its two lovers
وَأَرجو أَن تَرِقَّ لِعاشِقَيهِ
فَتُقلِعَand so desist عَنfrom صُدودِكَyour shunning وَالتَجَنّيand unjust reproaches
فَتُقلِعَ عَن صُدودِكَ وَالتَجَنّي
And I hope you will be tender toward its two lovers,
And I hope you will soften to my lover
And so cease your shunning and unjust reproaches.
So you give up your aloofness and coyness
وَأَخشىand I fear أَنthat تَزيدَyou will increase عَلَيَّtoward me تيهاًin haughtiness
وَأَخشى أَن تَزيدَ عَلَيَّ تيهاً
وَإِعراضاًand in aversion بِهِbecause of it فَتَصُدَّand so turn away عَنّيfrom me
وَإِعراضاً بِهِ فَتَصُدَّ عَنّي
And I fear you will grow more haughty toward me,
And I fear you will increase my bewilderment
And more aloof because of it, and turn away from me.
And disdain with it, so you turn away from me
