فُؤاديmy heart كَئيبٌsorrowful بالصّبابةِwith passionate longing مُدنَفُwasted by illness
فُؤادي كَئيبٌ بالصّبابةِ مُدنَفُ
وَدَمعيand my tears صَبيبٌpouring forth لِلكَآبَةِfrom grief يَذرِفُflows
وَدَمعي صَبيبٌ لِلكَآبَةِ يَذرِفُ
My heart is sorrowful, wasted by passionate longing.
My heart is gloomy with youth gone by
And my tears pour forth, flowing from grief.
And my tears flow copiously in melancholy
أَسُحّI pour out دَماًblood مِنfrom بَينِbetween جَفنَيَّmy two eyelids سائِلاًflowing
أَسُحّ دَماً مِن بَينِ جَفنَيَّ سائِلاً
بِخَدّيdown my cheek فَهَلso does...? إِنسانُthe pupil عَينَيَّof my two eyes يَرعُفُbleeds from the nose
بِخَدّي فَهَل إِنسانُ عَينَيَّ يَرعُفُ
I pour out blood from between my eyelids, streaming
I wipe blood from between my eyelids asking
Down my cheek—does the pupil of my eyes have a nosebleed?
Does any human see the weeping of my eyes
