Ibn ʿUnayn, in every kind of heresy—
The son of disgrace, in every heresy,
His deeds have become a byword, evening and morning.
His deeds have become examples night and day.
لَمdid not يَتَنَفَّسbreathe إِلاexcept عَلىover قَدَحٍa goblet
لَم يَتَنَفَّس إِلا عَلى قَدَحٍ
وَلَمand did not يَبِتspend the night غَيرَother than راكِبٍriding كَفَلاa rump
وَلَم يَبِت غَيرَ راكِبٍ كَفَلا
He never drew a breath except over a goblet,
He breathes only into a wine cup,
And never spent the night except astride a rump.
And never sleeps except riding a camel.
