رَأَيتُ بِالجامِعِ أُعجوبَةً

رَأَيتُ بِالجامِعِ أُعجوبَةً

وَالناسُ يَسعَونَ إِلَيها زُمَر

وَالناسُ يَسعَونَ إِلَيها زُمَر

I saw a marvel at the congregational mosque,

I saw a wonder in the mosque

and people were hastening toward it in groups.

And people were flocking to it in droves

فَقُلتُ يا قَومُ عَلى رِسلِكُم

فَقُلتُ يا قَومُ عَلى رِسلِكُم

ما يَعِظُ الجاموسُ إِلّا البَقَر

ما يَعِظُ الجاموسُ إِلّا البَقَر

So I said, 'O people, take your time—

So I said, O people, slow your pace

the buffalo preaches to none but cattle.'

For none but cows are drawn by bells
