أَبصَرَني مُوَلَّهاً مُدَلَّهاً

أَبصَرَني مُوَلَّهاً مُدَلَّهاً

مَن حُبُّهُ أَسلَمَني إِلى الأَذى

مَن حُبُّهُ أَسلَمَني إِلى الأَذى

He saw me frantic with love and distraught—

he whose love had consigned me to suffering.

فَقالَ مَن قاتِلُ ذا واهاً لَهُ

فَقالَ مَن قاتِلُ ذا واهاً لَهُ

قُلتُ لَهُ القائِلُ مَن قاتِلُ ذا

قُلتُ لَهُ القائِلُ مَن قاتِلُ ذا

Then he said, “Who is this one's killer? Alas for him!”

I said to him, “The one who says, ‘Who is this one's killer?’”
