A pilgrim forever uttering talbiyah and proclaiming God's greatness

فَيَدُ الليالي عن وَلِيِّكَ تَقْصُر
Your two hands, Abu al-Husayn, have reached far in generosity,
Your hands extended, O Abu Al-Hussein, out of longing
so the hand of the nights cannot reach your ally.
Yet the nights’ hands fall short of your patron

And you have united generosity with sound judgment;
You combined generosity and rationality
for each, the little finger is bent in counting.
Both of which the wise praise

O sons of Muqatil, through whose beneficence
Son of fierce fighters, their deeds
deeds of kindness once uncelebrated became renowned.
Prevailing over deeds not prevailing before

If not for your leadership and your planning for us
among us, governor and governed would have been lost.
The planner and the planned would have been lost

O you who executes with the pen and sword affairs
are fate decreed when affairs take their course.

My soul be your ransom—as a scribe, nay, as a horseman:
My soul is your ransom, as a writer, but also as a horseman
this is life, and that is red death.
This is life, and that is bloody death

When you kept orating with your sword's edge,
When you shaded with the edge of your sword, addressing
no one doubted that your saddle was a pulpit.
No creature doubted your pulpit was a saddle

In glory you resemble a father who surpassed humankind
You resembled, with pride, a father proud throughout the world
in glory; who, then, can boast of glory like yours?
So who can pride themselves like your pride?

And so fruitful branches, when they originate
of gems, their fruits are gems.
From a core, their fruits originate from the core
