Spring's fragrance is scattered over the desert,

and March's musk is sprinkled over the earth.

Rise, tint the cup with safflower before the call to prayer; for if

a sparrow rises, it announces dawn to us.

Unmixed wine comes in succession, and the strings wound me,

and drive sorrow from me, leaving it unavenged.

And I have a longing for scatterings and stock flowers,

when Manthur invites us to the stock flowers.
