يُبَلُّ الحلقُ منه بل حُلَيْقُ
Quwayq, you have indeed choked on a jug of water;
Woeful one, you've choked with a cup of water
The throat is moistened by it—rather, a tiny throat.
The throat is wetted by it, yet the gullet is dry

So do not boast, for you choke if ever
So do not boast, for you only choke either
A little thunder arises one day, or a little flash of lightning.
On goat's milk one day or morning spit
