May my father be his ransom مَنْthe one هَرَبْتُI fled مِنْfrom توديعِهْbidding him farewell
وبعثتُand I sent الدموعَthe tears فيin تشييعهْseeing him off
May my father be ransom for him from whose farewell I fled,
By the one I fled from bidding farewell
And I sent my tears to see him off.
And I sent tears to see him off
ياO أباfather of حاتمٍHatim دعاءَa plea مَشُوقٍa yearning man
ألهبَkindled الشَّوْقُlonging نارَهُits fire فيin ضلوعِهhis ribs
O Abu Hatim—the plea of a yearning man,
O Abu Hatim, the prayer of a yearner
In whose ribs longing has kindled its fire.
Whose yearning lit its fire in his ribs
بانdeparted دانيلُDanil يومَthe day بانَhe departed بِقَلْبٍwith a heart

When Danil departed, he took a heart with him;
It was clear, the day Daniel appeared with a heart
I hope for its return with his return.
I hope for his return with his return
