أكفُّ لسان الدمع إن يشكوَ الهوى

كأن لسان السقم لا يُحسنُ الشكوى

I restrain the tongue of tears if it complains of love,

I restrain the tongue of tears if it complains of passion

As though the tongue of sickness did not know how to complain.

As if the tongue of illness cannot complain well
