    To the man of glory and disgrace,

    to a cutter of halters,

    to one more loathsome in appearance

    than a farrier's twitch:

    a lampoon passed as a gift

    between a drummer and a piper.

    ألا فاذهبْ إلى النار

    You went seeking profit;

    well then, go to hellfire!

    We left of you only scraps of fodder,

    and what hope is there in fodder scraps?

    Yes, you dog, you ape,

    and you fuller's donkey!

    And you privy sparrow that went

    into birdlime and pitch!

    نِ كالمَخرجِ في الدار

    And you, who among beardless youths

    are like the privy in a house;

    and you bloodletter's washpot,

    you mousetrap!

    And you, whose heel tendon is sharper

    than a butcher's knife!

    ثُ يُلقى حَجَرُ الخاري

    My heart has indeed cast you away

    where a shitter's stone is thrown;

    so it cannot be planed

    after this, even by a thousand carpenters.
