لاdo not تهجونَّlampoon دنيّاًa base man
لا تهجونَّ دنيّاً
واعدُدْهُand reckon him فيin بطنِthe belly of رَمْسِهhis grave
واعدُدْهُ في بطنِ رَمْسِه
Do not lampoon a base man;
Do not ridicule the world
and reckon him in the belly of his grave.
And count it in the belly of its sand
حسبsufficient for الدنيِّthe base man هجاءًas satire
حسب الدنيِّ هجاءً
علمُknowledge الدنيِّthe base man بنفسِهof himself
علمُ الدنيِّ بنفسِه
Sufficient satire for the base man
The world's ridicule is enough
is the base man's knowledge of himself.
The world knows itself
