كذاك النيل يشرف بالمنيل

كذاك النيل يشرف بالمنيل

He is noble in bounty when he bestows a gift;

Thus bounty is ennobled by the giver.

رأيت بني يزيد رجال رأيٍ

عقولهم مصابيح العقول

عقولهم مصابيح العقول

I saw the sons of Yazid, men of judgment;

Their minds are the lamps of intellect.
