سرورُ ذا اليوم سرورٌ مَحْضُ

سرورُ ذا اليوم سرورٌ مَحْضُ

وعيشُ هذا اليومِ عَيْشٌ غَضُّ

وعيشُ هذا اليومِ عَيْشٌ غَضُّ

This day's joy is pure joy.

And this day's life is a fresh, tender life.

فتوبةُ التائب فيه بُغْضُ

فتوبةُ التائب فيه بُغْضُ

أما ترى الثلجَ الذي يَنْفَض

أما ترى الثلجَ الذي يَنْفَض

So the penitent's repentance on this day is hateful.

Do you not see the snow scattering?

يذهبُ بعضٌ ويجيءُ بَعْضُ

يذهبُ بعضٌ ويجيءُ بَعْضُ

كالخيلِ وإلى بينهنَّ الركض

كالخيلِ وإلى بينهنَّ الركض

Some goes away, and some comes,

Like horses, with galloping among them [wording unclear].

مُتَّسِقٌ هذا وذا مُنْقَضُّ

مُتَّسِقٌ هذا وذا مُنْقَضُّ

فكلُّ ما تلحظهُ مُبيض

فكلُّ ما تلحظهُ مُبيض

This one is orderly, and that one swoops down.

So everything you see is white.

تضحكُ من ضِحْكِ ال

تضحكُ من ضِحْكِ ال

سماءِ الأرْض

سماءِ الأرْض

Laughing in response to the laughter of the

sky is the earth.
