As the water therein flows right
تحسبهاyou think it منfrom طولthe length of ترجيعهاits repeated refrain
تحسبها من طول ترجيعها
دائمةunceasing تنشدrecites verse أوor تخطبdelivers a speech
دائمة تنشد أو تخطب
You would think it, from its prolonged refrain,
You'd think, from its constant roar
forever reciting verse or delivering a speech.
It's chanting ballads evermore
كأنas though فواراتهاits fountains وسطهاin its midst
كأن فواراتها وسطها
إذاwhen ترامتleap toward one another لعبdolls تلعبplay
إذا ترامت لعب تلعب
It is as though its fountains in its midst,
As if its fountains midst its halls
when they leap toward one another, were dolls at play.
When spraying are but children's balls
منfrom يمنةthe right-hand side فيهاin it ومنand from يسرةthe left-hand side
من يمنة فيها ومن يسرة
قنطرةa bridge واقفةstanding still تذهبmoves away
قنطرة واقفة تذهب
From the right within it and from the left,
On left and right within its midst
a bridge stands still, yet moves away.
