    يسكرُ من كاسِ طَرْفِهِ الكاس

    A gazelle in whom the rose and myrtle take pride;

    The cup grows drunk on the cup of his gaze.

    You are made to forget the varieties of flowers on every hill

    By the blossoms on his cheeks, of which there are many kinds.

    The people's shamelessness is among the finest things

    I have seen, when people cast off restraint.

    O my master, if only you would restore some of my breath—

    For I have had no breath since you forsook me.
