وكنزَ مِثلي وَذُخْرَهْ
O my master, a thousand times over,
O master, a thousand times
and the treasure of one like me, and his mainstay,
You are my treasure and my wealth
وَمَنْand the one for whom أطالَhas prolonged إلهيmy God
وَمَنْ أطالَ إلهي

في أسبغ العيشِ عُمْرَه
and you for whom my God has prolonged
And he who lives long by my God
life amid the fullest comforts:
Through the most abundant life
هلdo أنتyou ذاكرُremembering وعديthe promise to me
هل أنت ذاكرُ وعدي

أم قد تناسيتَ ذِكْرَه
Do you remember the promise made to me,
Do you remember your promise to me
or have you pretended to forget it?
Or have you forgotten the mention of it

فتىً تَسَلَّفْتَ شُكْرَه
Do not weary, by making him press his claim,
Do not trouble with repayment
a youth whose thanks you have borrowed in advance.
A youth whose gratitude you have borrowed

And how can one thirst who has
And how can he thirst who has found

In your palms his sea
