بَداit appeared رَوضةa garden مِنfrom جنةParadise الخُلدeternity إِذwhen بَداit appeared
بَدا رَوضة مِن جنة الخُلد إِذ بَدا
مقامa sanctuary عَلىupon التَقوىpiety الرفيعةlofty شيداwas built
مقام عَلى التَقوى الرفيعة شيدا
When it came into view, it seemed a garden from eternal Paradise—
It appeared as a garden from the eternal paradise when it appeared
a sanctuary built upon lofty piety.
A lofty abode of piety it was built
بِهِin it الصَلواتthe prayers الخَمسthe five أَضحَتbecame مقامةestablished
بِهِ الصَلوات الخَمس أَضحَت مقامة
وَفيهِand in it كِتابthe Book of اللَهGod وَالعلمand knowledge وَالهُدىand guidance
وَفيهِ كِتاب اللَه وَالعلم وَالهُدى
Within it, the five prayers came to be observed,
In it the five prayers became a place of worship
and within it are God's Book, knowledge, and guidance.
And in it is the Book of God, knowledge and guidance
أَلَمhave you not تَرَseen أَقواماًpeople بِهِin it لازمواheld fast to التُقىpiety
أَلَم تَرَ أَقواماً بِهِ لازموا التُقى
وَقَوماًand people بِهِin it باتواspent the night ركوعاًbowing وَسُجَداand prostrating
وَقَوماً بِهِ باتوا ركوعاً وَسُجَدا
Have you not seen people there who held fast to piety,
Have you not seen people who adhered to piety in it
and people who spent the night there, bowing and prostrating?
And people who in it spent the night bowing and prostrating
فَطوبىso blessedness لِعَبدfor the servant of اللَهGod لِلّهto God درهhis excellence
فَطوبى لِعَبد اللَه لِلّه دره
نَتيجةthe offspring of عيسىIsa نالَhe attained عزاًhonor مخلداًeverlasting
نَتيجة عيسى نالَ عزاً مخلداً
So blessed is Abd Allah—how admirable he is!
So blessed is the servant of God, to God he is devoted
Isa's offspring, who attained everlasting honor.
The offspring of Jesus attained eternal honor
بَناهُhe built it وَفيand in الفَيحاءal-Fayha قَدindeed كانَhe was نائِباًa deputy
بَناهُ وَفي الفَيحاء قَد كانَ نائِباً
وَوظفهand he endowed it منfrom خانهhis caravanserai الوَقفthe endowment عسجَداgold
وَوظفه من خانه الوَقف عسجَدا
He built it while serving as deputy in al-Fayha,
He built it and in Al Fayha he was a representative
and allotted it gold from his endowed caravanserai.
And employed it from the endowment bureau as a mosque
وَبثand he spread النَدىbounty وَالعرفand kindness حَتّىuntil كَأَنَّماas though
وَبث النَدى وَالعرف حَتّى كَأَنَّما
تَكونwas formed مَولاناour master مِنfrom الجودgenerosity وَالنَدىand bounty
تَكون مَولانا مِن الجود وَالنَدى
He spread bounty and kindness, until it seemed
And spread benevolence and noble customs until it was as if
our master was fashioned from generosity and bounty.
Our Master was of generosity and benevolence
يَعودhe returns إِلىto الخَيراتgood deeds طَبعاًby nature لأَنَّهbecause he
يَعود إِلى الخَيرات طَبعاً لأَنَّه
يَرىhe regards العودreturning مِنfrom بَينamong الخَليقةhumankind أَحمَداmost praiseworthy
يَرى العود مِن بَين الخَليقة أَحمَدا
He returns naturally to good deeds, because he
He returns to good deeds naturally because
regards such returning as most praiseworthy among humankind.
He sees the best among people as Ahmad
جَزاءrecompense آلthe household of العَرشthe Throne عَنfor حُسنthe goodness of فعلهhis deed
جَزاء آل العَرش عَن حُسن فعله
نَعيماًbliss مُقيماًabiding لاnot يَزالceases مُؤبداeverlasting
نَعيماً مُقيماً لا يَزال مُؤبدا
The reward from the Throne's household for his good deed:
The reward of the people of the Throne for his good deed
abiding bliss that endures forever.
Is lasting bliss that never ceases
أَقولI say لَهُto him قَدindeed تَمis complete تاريخهits chronogram فجُزso reap
أَقول لَهُ قَد تَم تاريخه فجُز
لَكَfor you الخَيرgoodness قَدindeed أَسَستyou have founded للّهfor God مسجداa mosque
لَكَ الخَير قَد أَسَست للّه مسجدا
I tell him: its chronogram is complete, so reap
I say to him the date of its completion is
goodness for yourself—you have founded a mosque for God.
For you is the good - you established a mosque for God
