سارَspread سرsecret النَبيthe Prophet فيthrough كُلevery جنسkind of being
سارَ سر النَبي في كُل جنس
فَأَقرتso attested بِفَضلهto his excellence كُلevery نَفسsoul
فَأَقرت بِفَضله كُل نَفس
The Prophet's secret spread through every kind of being,
The secret of the Prophet spread in every race
So every soul attested to his excellence.
And each soul acknowledged his virtue
سَطَعتshone شَمسsun فَضلهhis excellence فَتغشتand enveloped
سَطَعت شَمس فَضله فَتغشت
مِنfrom أَساريرradiant gleams نورهاits light كُلevery شَمسsun
مِن أَسارير نورها كُل شَمس
The sun of his excellence shone and enveloped
The sun of his virtue shone and enveloped
Every sun with the radiant gleams of its light.
Every sun with the secrets of its light
سَلask إِذاif ماever استطَعتyou can جبريلGabriel عَمَنabout the one who
سَل إِذا ما استطَعت جبريل عَمَن
خاطبspoke with الرَبthe Lord فَوقَabove عَرشthe Throne وَكُرسيand the Seat
خاطب الرَب فَوقَ عَرش وَكُرسي
Ask Gabriel, if ever you can, about the one who
Ask, if you can, Gabriel about the one
Spoke with the Lord above the Throne and the Seat.
Who spoke to the Lord above the Throne and Chair
سرwas gladdened بالقُربby nearness وَالوِصالand union وَدارَتand circulated
سر بالقُرب وَالوِصال وَدارَت
خمرةwine الحُبlove فيin حشىthe belly of كُلevery كاسcup
خمرة الحُب في حشى كُل كاس
He was gladdened by nearness and union, and there circulated
He drew near with intimacy and union and around him circulated
The wine of love in the belly of every cup.
The wine of love in the heart of every goblet
سامروهthey conversed with him by night مِنfrom بَعدِafter ماthat قَربوهthey drew him near
سامروه مِن بَعدِ ما قَربوه
قابa span of قَوسينtwo bows فيin حَضائرprecincts قُدسholiness
قاب قَوسين في حَضائر قُدس
They conversed with him by night after drawing him near,
They kept him company after drawing him near
Two bow-lengths away, in the precincts of holiness.
Two bow lengths in the sanctuaries of holiness
سَأَلوهthey asked him وَأَلهَموهand they inspired him جَواباًan answer
سَأَلوه وَأَلهَموه جَواباً
وَخِطاباًand speech ماnot خطwas inscribed يَوماًever بِطرسon a page
وَخِطاباً ما خط يَوماً بِطرس
They asked him and inspired him with an answer,
They asked him and inspired him with an answer
And speech never once inscribed on a page.
And a discourse never spoken by Peter
سَددوهthey guided him aright إِذاwhen كَلفوهthey charged him بِشَرعwith a law
سَددوه إِذا كَلفوه بِشَرع
وَبِتَبليغهand with conveying it لجنto jinn وَإنسand humankind
وَبِتَبليغه لجن وَإنس
They guided him aright when they charged him with a law,
They helped him when they tasked him with law
And with conveying it to jinn and humankind.
And delivering it to jinn and mankind
سعدrejoiced المُصطَفىthe Chosen One بِخَمسينin fifty فرضاًobligations
سعد المُصطَفى بِخَمسين فرضاً
خففتwere lightened عَنهُfor him إِذاwhen تَناهَتsettled لخمسat five
خففت عَنهُ إِذا تَناهَت لخمس
The Chosen One rejoiced in fifty obligations,
The Chosen One was blessed with fifty obligations
They were lightened for him when they settled at five.
Lightened for him if they became too heavy to bear
سَمعتهheard him عصابةa company فَأَطاعَتand so obeyed
سَمعته عصابة فَأَطاعَت
وَتلتand recited وَحيهhis revelation بِحفظwith memorization وَدَرسand study
وَتلت وَحيه بِحفظ وَدَرس
A company heard him and so obeyed,
A group heard him and obeyed
And recited his revelation, memorizing and studying it.
And studied and memorized his revelation
سنةa tradition أَحمَديةof Ahmad نَشَروهاthey spread it
سنة أَحمَدية نَشَروها
فَأَزالواso they dispelled بِنَشرِهاby spreading it كُلall لبسconfusion
فَأَزالوا بِنَشرِها كُل لبس
They spread the tradition of Ahmad,
They spread the Ahmadi sunnah
So, by spreading it, they dispelled all confusion.
And by spreading it dispelled all ambiguity
