خصwas singled out بِالفَضلfor excellence وَالكَمالand perfection الشامخlofty
خص بِالفَضل وَالكَمال الشامخ
سَيدa master فيin مَعارفknowledge of اللَهGod راسخfirmly rooted
سَيد في مَعارف اللَه راسخ
He was singled out for excellence and lofty perfection,
Endowed with merit and perfection sublime
A master firmly rooted in knowledge of God.
A master in the knowledge of God's law
ختمsealed الرُسلthe messengers وَالنَبيينand the prophets جَزماًbeyond doubt
ختم الرُسل وَالنَبيين جَزماً
وَلأَديانهمand of their religions مَدىthroughout الدَهرall time ناسخan abrogator
وَلأَديانهم مَدى الدَهر ناسخ
He sealed the line of messengers and prophets, beyond doubt,
Sealing prophets and messengers with certainty
And abrogates their religions for all time.
And for their religions an abrogator till end of time
خلةintimate friendship اللَهGod وَالمَحبةand love حيزتwere secured
خلة اللَه وَالمَحبة حيزت
لِنَبيfor a prophet غَداwent forth إِلىtoward العَرشthe Throne شامخrising high
لِنَبي غَدا إِلى العَرش شامخ
God's intimate friendship and love were secured
The intimate of God, embodiment of love
For a prophet who rose aloft toward the Throne.
To a prophet who ascended to the Highest Throne
خيرةchosen one اللَهGod صَفوةelect one اللَهGod عَبدservant الfirst part of 'God'
خيرة اللَه صَفوة اللَه عَبد ال
لَهcompletion of 'God' بِالدينwith the faith وَالهِدايةand guidance صارخproclaiming aloud
لَه بِالدين وَالهِداية صارخ
God's chosen one, God's elect, the servant of
The elect of God, chosen amongst all people
God, loudly proclaiming the faith and guidance.
Loudly proclaiming true guidance and faith
خافهfeared Him وَاتقاهand was mindful of Him فيin كُلevery حالstate
خافه وَاتقاه في كُل حال
فَغَداso he became لِلضَلالagainst error بِالحَقthrough the truth شامخtowering
فَغَدا لِلضَلال بِالحَق شامخ
He feared Him and was mindful of Him in every state,
He feared and was wary of God in all states
So he stood tall against error through the truth.
Against misguidance with truth ever upright
خَطبaddressed الناسthe people إِذwhen دَعاهُمhe called them فَلَيتso, would that
خَطب الناس إِذ دَعاهُم فَلَيت
فتيةyoung men لَمdid not يَعرجواturn aside لِلتَناسخtoward transmigration of souls
فتية لَم يَعرجوا لِلتَناسخ
He addressed the people when he called them—would that
He addressed all people, inviting them, would that
Young men had not turned to the transmigration of souls!
Foolish youths had not clung to reincarnation myths
خدمserved الرَبthe Lord داعياًcalling to Him حينَwhen أَضحىhe became
خدم الرَب داعياً حينَ أَضحى
لِعُقودof the bonds الطُغاةthe tyrants وَالشركand idolatry فاسخan undoer
لِعُقود الطُغاة وَالشرك فاسخ
He served the Lord, calling to Him, when he became
He served the Lord calling, when he became
One who undid the bonds of tyrants and idolatry.
The nullifier of tyrants' pagan contracts
خابَcame to grief مَنwhoever ضَلstrayed عَنfrom سَبيلthe path of هَواهlove for him
خابَ مَن ضَل عَن سَبيل هَواه
وَغَداand became بِالفَسادwith corruption وَالكُفرand unbelief نافخfanning
وَغَدا بِالفَساد وَالكُفر نافخ
Whoever strayed from the path of loving him came to grief,
Lost is he who strayed from the path of passion
And went on to fan corruption and unbelief.
And with corruption and disbelief became engulfed
خرسfell mute الشركidolatry حينَwhen جاءَhe came بِذكرwith a reminder
خرس الشرك حينَ جاءَ بِذكر
كانَwas لِلظالِمينfor the wrongdoers مردruin-bringing وَماسخand disfiguring
كانَ لِلظالِمين مرد وَماسخ
Idolatry fell mute when he came with a reminder
Silenced is paganism when the Remembrance came
That brought ruin and disfigurement to the wrongdoers.
Containing refutation of oppressors impudent
خَسرتfailed صَفقةthe bargain of الَّذيthe one who حادَturned aside عَنهُaway from him
خَسرت صَفقة الَّذي حادَ عَنهُ
وَثَوىand dwelt فيin جَحيمهhis hell بِالبَرازخin the intermediate realms
وَثَوى في جَحيمه بِالبَرازخ
The bargain of the one who turned away from him failed,
Ruined is the deal of one who deviated from him
And he dwelt in his hell in the intermediate realms.
And in Hellfire with wasteland he has been engulfed
