يا أَبا السَبطين يا نور الهُدى

يا أَبا السَبطين يا نور الهُدى

مَن بِهِ اللَه إِلى الحَق هدى

مَن بِهِ اللَه إِلى الحَق هدى

O father of the two grandsons, O light of guidance,

O father of two grandsons, O light of guidance

Through whom God gave guidance to the truth.

The one through whom Allah guides to the truth

أَنتَ فَخر الفَخر وَالمَجد الَّذي

أَنتَ فَخر الفَخر وَالمَجد الَّذي

طالَ مِن فَوق السَموات مَدى

طالَ مِن فَوق السَموات مَدى

You are the pride of pride, and the glory that

You are the pride of all pride and glory that

extended its reach far above the heavens.

Has spread its expanse above the heavens

وَالإمام البارع الهادي إِلى

وَالإمام البارع الهادي إِلى

منهج الخَير بِهِ الرُشد بَدا

منهج الخَير بِهِ الرُشد بَدا

And the outstanding Imam who guides to

And the proficient leader who guides

the path of goodness, through whom right guidance appeared.

To the path of good, through which righteousness manifests

أَسد اللَه عَلي مَن سَما

أَسد اللَه عَلي مَن سَما

رتب الفَضل وَللفخر غَدا

رتب الفَضل وَللفخر غَدا

God's lion, Ali, who ascended

The lion of Allah upon those who ascend

the ranks of excellence and set forth for glory.

The ranks of superiority and become the pride

ابن عَم المُصطَفى خَير الوَرى

ابن عَم المُصطَفى خَير الوَرى

بحر علم نالهُ من وردا

بحر علم نالهُ من وردا

Cousin of the Chosen One, the best of humankind,

The cousin of Mustafa, the best of creation

a sea of knowledge, drawn upon by all who came to drink.

An ocean of knowledge which he drew from springs

منبع العلم شهاب ساطع

منبع العلم شهاب ساطع

قَد بَدا مِن نوره بَدر الهُدى

قَد بَدا مِن نوره بَدر الهُدى

A wellspring of knowledge, a shining meteor,

The source of knowledge, a shining star

from his light the full moon of guidance has appeared.

Whose light made the full moon of guidance appear

بَحر جود ما له مِن ساحل

بَحر جود ما له مِن ساحل

يا لَهُ طالَ نَوالاً وَجَدى

يا لَهُ طالَ نَوالاً وَجَدى

A sea of generosity without a shore;

An ocean of generosity that has no coast

Oh, how he excels in bounty and gifts!

Oh look how far his gifts and generosity reached

باسل شَهم خضم كاسر

باسل شَهم خضم كاسر

يحطم الأعدا إِذا يَوماً عَدا

يحطم الأعدا إِذا يَوماً عَدا

Valiant, noble-hearted, a mighty sea, a crushing force,

A valiant, firm, formidable hero

he shatters foes if ever he attacks.

Who crushes enemies if they dare advance

سَيد قَوم أَريب عارف

سَيد قَوم أَريب عارف

بِكتاب اللَه يَروي من صَدا

بِكتاب اللَه يَروي من صَدا

A people's leader, discerning and well versed

The master of an eloquent people, knowledgeable

in God's Book, quenching the thirst of whoever thirsts.

In the book of Allah which he narrates from memory

يا إمام الفَضل يا مَن قَد حَوى

يا إمام الفَضل يا مَن قَد حَوى

سُؤدداً جَماً بِهِ زالَ الردى

سُؤدداً جَماً بِهِ زالَ الردى

O Imam of excellence, O you who have attained

O Imam of superiority, O you who contained

great eminence, through which ruin vanished.

Abundant perfection through which disorder vanished

جئتُكُم مِن بَعد دار زائِراً

جئتُكُم مِن بَعد دار زائِراً

أَرتَجي لُطفاً لَكَ الروح فدا

أَرتَجي لُطفاً لَكَ الروح فدا

I have come to visit you from a far-off home,

I have come to you after the land of pilgrimage

hoping for kindness; may my soul be your ransom.

Seeking kindness, for you my soul I sacrifice

وَهَجرت الأَهل وَالأَولاد وَالر

وَهَجرت الأَهل وَالأَولاد وَالر

ربع يا خَير كَريم قَصدا

ربع يا خَير كَريم قَصدا

And I left my family, my children, and the

And I abandoned my family, children and

dwelling, O best of the generous, seeking you.

Dwelling, O best generous one, with purpose

وَطَويت البيد في طَي السَرى

وَطَويت البيد في طَي السَرى

كَي ألاقي في حماكُم رشدا

كَي ألاقي في حماكُم رشدا

And I crossed the desert wastes, traveling through the night,

And I crossed the deserts traveling the paths

to find right guidance in your sanctuary.

That I may find guidance in your sanctuary

أَرتَجي مِنكُم قبولاً وَرِضا

أَرتَجي مِنكُم قبولاً وَرِضا

وَنَوالاً لَيسَ يَفنى أَبَدا

وَنَوالاً لَيسَ يَفنى أَبَدا

I hope for acceptance and favor from you,

I hope for acceptance and pleasure from you

and bounty that never runs out,

And gifts that will never diminish

كَي أنال الفَخر وَالمَجد الَّذي

كَي أنال الفَخر وَالمَجد الَّذي

فَوقَ أكتاف المَعالي صعدا

فَوقَ أكتاف المَعالي صعدا

so that I may attain the pride and glory that

So that I may attain the pride and glory

rose above the shoulders of lofty honors,

That ascended above the highest glories

وَأَفوق الصحب في نَيل الحمى

وَأَفوق الصحب في نَيل الحمى

وَأَرى عَيشاً حَميداً رَغدا

وَأَرى عَيشاً حَميداً رَغدا

and surpass my companions in attaining sanctuary,

And surpass the companions in attaining steadfastness

and know a praiseworthy life of ease.

And live a praiseworthy and comfortable life

وَعَسى تشفع لي في زلتي

وَعَسى تشفع لي في زلتي

يَوم لا أَعرف فيهِ الولدا

يَوم لا أَعرف فيهِ الولدا

And may you intercede for me concerning my failing,

And may you intercede for me regarding my sins

on the day when I will not recognize my children,

On a day I will not recognize my children

لي وَللأهل وَللأصحاب وَال

لي وَللأهل وَللأصحاب وَال

ولد وَالأَحباب ما لَيل هَدا

ولد وَالأَحباب ما لَيل هَدا

for me, my family, my companions, and the

children and loved ones, as long as night grows still.

And loved ones during this blessed night

وَسَعيد وَحُسين أَتيا

وَسَعيد وَحُسين أَتيا

مَع خَليل يَطلبون المَدَدا

مَع خَليل يَطلبون المَدَدا

And Sa'id and Husayn have come

And Sa`eed, Husain and Khalil came

with Khalil, seeking aid,

With me seeking help

وَشِفاء عاجِلاً يا سَيدي

وَشِفاء عاجِلاً يا سَيدي

لِخَليل مِن سقام وَصَدا

لِخَليل مِن سقام وَصَدا

and swift healing, O my master,

And a speedy recovery O my master

for Khalil, from illness and thirst.

For Khalil from sickness and pain

نَظرة مِنكَ إِلَينا أَنَّهُ

نَظرة مِنكَ إِلَينا أَنَّهُ

قَد حَداه الشَوق فيمَن قَد حَدا

قَد حَداه الشَوق فيمَن قَد حَدا

A glance from you toward us, for he

One glance from you upon us, for indeed

has been driven by longing among those it has driven.

Yearning has exhausted those who yearned

وَإِذا نلنا قبولاً إِنَّنا

وَإِذا نلنا قبولاً إِنَّنا

بَينَ خَلق اللَه نَحنُ السعدا

بَينَ خَلق اللَه نَحنُ السعدا

And if we gain acceptance, then surely we

And if we attain acceptance, then indeed

are the fortunate among God's creatures.

Amongst Allah's creations we are the fortunate

وَانصر اللَهُم سُلطان الوَرى

وَانصر اللَهُم سُلطان الوَرى

مُصطَفى الغازي عَلى كُل العِدى

مُصطَفى الغازي عَلى كُل العِدى

And grant victory, O God, to the sovereign of humankind,

And aid, O Allah, the Sultan of the world

Mustafa the Ghazi, over all foes.

Mustafa the conqueror over all enemies

وَاقتل الكُفار وَاقمع شَرهُم

وَاقتل الكُفار وَاقمع شَرهُم

ثُمَ لَن تبقي مِنهُم أَحَدا

ثُمَ لَن تبقي مِنهُم أَحَدا

And slay the unbelievers and quell their evil,

And kill the disbelievers and suppress their evil

then you will leave not one of them.

Then none of them will remain

وَعَلى المُختار صَلى رَبنا

وَعَلى المُختار صَلى رَبنا

وَعَلَيك اللَه صَلى سرمدا

وَعَلَيك اللَه صَلى سرمدا

And may our Lord send blessings upon the Chosen One,

And upon the Chosen One send blessings O our Lord

and may God send blessings upon you forever,

And upon you, blessings perpetually

وَعلى عترتك الأَطهار وَالص

وَعلى عترتك الأَطهار وَالص

صَفوة الأَبرار ما حادَ حدا

صَفوة الأَبرار ما حادَ حدا

and upon your pure descendants, and the

And upon your pure household and the

elect among the righteous, as long as a camel-driver sings.

Elite of the righteous for eternity

وَسَلام نَشره مسك عَلى

وَسَلام نَشره مسك عَلى

قَبرك السامي عَلى مَر المدى

قَبرك السامي عَلى مَر المدى

And peace, whose fragrance is musk, upon

And spread your peace O musk upon

your lofty grave throughout the passage of time.
