أحارِ بنَ عَمرو فؤادي خَمِر
ويعدوand assails علىupon المرءa man ماwhat يأتَمرhe devises
ويعدو على المرء ما يأتَمر
O Harith, son of Amr, my heart is bewildered.
My heart perplexed by love of Amr
And what a man devises turns against him.
And man is prone to what he is inclined
