لَسنا وَإِن أَحسابُنا كَرُمَت

لَسنا وَإِن أَحسابُنا كَرُمَت

مِمَّن عَلى الأَحسابِ يَتَّكِلُ

We are not, though our ancestry is noble,

Though our pedigree is noble,

among those who rely on ancestry.

We are not of those who on pedigrees rely.

نَبني كَما كانَت أَوائِلُنا

نَبني كَما كانَت أَوائِلُنا

تَبني وَنَفعَلُ مِثلَ ما فَعَلوا

تَبني وَنَفعَلُ مِثلَ ما فَعَلوا

We build as our forebears used to

We build as our forefathers built before,

build, and we do as they did.

And do as they did in days gone by.
