إِنّا أُناسٌ تَستَنيرُ جُدودُنا

إِنّا أُناسٌ تَستَنيرُ جُدودُنا

وَيَموتُ أَقوامٌ وَهُم أَحياءُ

وَيَموتُ أَقوامٌ وَهُم أَحياءُ

We are a people whose fortunes shine;

We're people whose past enlightens us

and other peoples die while still alive.

While some die though alive they stay

قَد يَعلَمُ الأَقوامُ غَيرَ تَنَحُّلٍ

قَد يَعلَمُ الأَقوامُ غَيرَ تَنَحُّلٍ

أَنّا نُجومٌ فَوقَهم وَسَماءُ

أَنّا نُجومٌ فَوقَهم وَسَماءُ

The peoples surely know, without false pretension,

The people may know without dissolution

that we are stars above them, and a sky.

That we're stars above and the sky their way
